We have published two tutorial books for Mbira players. Each comes with its own CD.

We chose 11 Mbira songs and provide an easy to read form of notation. There are also written lyrics, so in combination with the CD, the package provides a good reference of how the songs should sound. 

We use these books for teaching workshops and students find them very useful.

The Kushaura book has the leading variations, and are easier to learn. This is the starting point. The Kutsinhira book has second variations, which are more complex. The vocals in the Kutsinhira book are also more complex. So this is an ideal follow up, or great for those who want to go deeper into singing with Mbira.
